First of all, Taiwo, respectfully from one christian to another, I do believe you are way off base using this to tell people they are worshipping animals if they have them as pets. While it may be true of some people, it is not like that with everyone who has pets. You are putting everyone all in the same box. You need to rethink what you are telling people. In Genesis 1:28, God's original design was for man to have dominion/stewardship over the earth and all things on the earth. I believe that is still God's intention even though man has failed at this. If we are not to have pets, then why does the Bible mention them? What about a horse and it's rider? In order for a horse to listen and trust it's rider a relationship is developed, therefore a bond is created. That horse knows it's rider and trusts him. Proverbs 12:10 says "A righteous man regardeth the life of his beast: but the tender mercies of the wicked are cruel." If we are to have animals in our life, our pets, then we have an obligation/responsibility to take care of them. This does not mean we worship them. As another commenter mentioned, before Noah was told by God that it was ok to eat meat that all they ate before was vegetation. This does not mean that just because God made it ok to eat any kind of meat, now that it is not ok to have pets. Pets have been a help to man throughout the ages. Again, let's use "grace" toward others in regards to this. Each individual has to find it in their own heart and listening to the Holy Spirit as to whether they are worshipping their pets or not and not based on the fact that other people eat that type of animal in other places, but because they put too much emphasis on it and other people and ultimately before God. Thank you.

to to tempt people to give up their pet is wrong also. You are basically telling them to not be responsible for that pet anymore, which I believe goes against what God tells us to do in regards to stewardship. And then, what about who they are giving it to? Then they are just worshipping it also. This does not solve the issue. Please prayerfully consider what I mentioned above. Thank you.

It's just moronic to imply that pets are a waste of time and money. What about hunting dogs, seeing eye dogs ETC?
Personally I am making a huge effort to stay away from meat. Not because I don't like it but mostly because it's flesh being displayed in supermarkets and the way most livestock is raised not to mention that to much meat will raise your risk of heart attach.
The human teeth are not designed as meat eaters. Why not eat more food grown from the good earth?

As i say in my article: God created plants and animals to serve humans IN VARIOUS WAYS including as meat and medicine.
Think of all the money and resources that people in rich countries are spending on Pets and Entertainment while humans all around the world are suffering lack of food, water and medical supplies. Stop wasting money and resources on your fantasies, direct all that wastage towards compassionate help of fellow humans in poor countries.

The pet industry is a multi million dollar business and that means jobs which feeds people. The pet industry is not going away so instead of shock factor BS why don't you do something that will make a difference. What are you doing to feed starving people in different countries? I guarantee people are not giving up there pets to send there pet food money to the hungry.

Pets are good therapy to many people and it has been proven to help people in certain life situations for life stability.

Look for solutions instead of wasting time and money on something that will never change no mater how hard you try.

Today I was made aware of this disgusting pathetic excuse of a person who drives around a mini van with a disgusting comment on the window. I'm a vegetarian and have been for over 10 years. I would NEVER harm an animal even if my life depended on it. My pets are my children and I will protect them to the end no matter what it takes. I will also protect all animals who don't have someone to take care of them. Whoever this man is, clearly he is a complete sick sociopath who needs to be locked up in an institution. People who can willingly harm animals have a wilingness and deep problem and will eventually harm humans. I find your interpretation of the Bible interesting and informative, and a welcome change from the usual fundamentalist Christian ideas. Here's a point where I disagree with you:

You seem to be very preoccupied with certain body parts and certain sexual behavior. I think you have a right to feel that these things are abhorrent, to express that, and to avoid situations where you are confronted with such things.

But in my opinion you aren't qualified to assert that such things are immoral, no matter how much you and others might be personally disgusted by them. By doing this you obscure the meaning of real evil - you confuse the fight against evil with a (yes, sadistic) hatred for e.g. your brothers' body parts and sexual activities, and so the meaning of real evil is confused and loses its impact.

In my opinion the category of immoral acts should be reserved for things that are actually evil (that injure others) - like, for example, starting wars, or enslaving others, or oppressing races or creeds, or tacitly or otherwise condoning such things, in order to to gain power for one's self and one's allies, or to "profit" indirectly from them.

You cite a lot of scripture that is non-specifically against things such as "uncleanness", but very few that condemn a specific activity. Are there any of Jesus' words in the bible condemning any such activity specifically? Jesus often criticized his followers for not understanding certain things. I don't believe one should be too much influenced by e.g., the prudery and conservatism of, for example, Paul of Tarsus (if indeed we're talking about a letter he actually wrote himself), even if they do condemn specific practices.

I understand your point. However, lets step away from interpretation. Lets go to your world, Science. The genitals have a surface made of mucous membranes and thus is permeable. The anus and mouth are also made of mucous membrane in order to allow food in or waste out of the body. The genitals are not made for food, and thus is inappropriate to use such organs for such purposes. The anus can transmit diseases from decomposing waste, the oral surface also has bacteria that is not hygienically sound for the genitals either. In addition to your morality view, is it moral for these acts to cause pain and discomfort?

In essence, "if" an all intelligent being gave us scripture, don't you think it was for a good reason?

A lot of people cannot get past the first sentence of your work. Their perception has been turned to stone and will not look your way. People do not care and do not want to listen to a cry they do not understand. The comment section above saddens me and should be cleaned up of comments not in context to the material being presented in order to have a clear conversation here.

Well, i'm a strong proponent for free speech. All that rubbish talk of the public at my website simply shows their irrational state. It should all be kept forever as an eternal record against them - MATTHEW 12:36, "But I say to you that for every idle word men may speak, they will give account of it in the day of judgment."

Rasgo Seraphim, you said something that's so true about how different cultures adore and idolize certain animals whether Cows in India or Dogs in the U.S. You said this is a ploy to DIVIDE HUMANITY against each other. Wow!! you are so right on that.

To: Rasgo_Seraphim . Much in my response to your comments are from Isaiah 14:12-17, Gen 2 and 3. At Babel (Gen 11), God responded to humanity by causing A DIVISION to come upon humanity because humans continued in their INDEPENDENCE of Him and taking dominion in a way that was contrary to the dominion He gave us when He made us in His likeness/image. In Gen 3 (Garden of Eden) humanity departed from UNDER God's Care and Guide into BEING-IN-CHARGE as we began partaking of the Tree of The Knowledge of Good and Evil (SELF-Legislature) which was introduced to us by the Deceitful Spirit (Leviathan/Lucifer). That vain glory and pride continued intensifying and we see the account in Gen 6 during Noah's time (and the astronomic judgments in the breaking-up of the fountains of the great deep) when God RESTORED the earth back to His Peace. However, that same Deceiver's vain glory and pride continued in humanity again and intensified until Gen 11 (Babel) as humans were UNITED TO MAKE A NAME FOR THEMSELVES, Gen 11:4 "let us build ourselves a city, and a tower whose top is in the heavens; let us make a name for ourselves", instead of glorifying our Maker who alone deserves all glory and praise, therefore God brought A DIVISION upon humanity whose intent was against its Maker.

The Judgments which have come upon humanity are NATURAL CONSEQUENCES, just like a fish that somehow gets deceived/enticed to depart from its natural habitat for INDEPENDENCE on the earth, that fish would naturally keep flopping on the earth in misery perishing.

You seem to talk about everything else but the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Help me understand why you even exist as a group. The items you stand for or fight for are of this world and have nothing to do with a concern over someone's salvation and eternity. I would also take your claims regarding Pastor Chuck Smith down until you have the courage to give your name, and when you had a discussion with him as you said. Based upon the dates you claim, he was already home with the Lord.

You need to SPECIFY what items/presentations of mine you are speaking against. If you know anything of the true-God, He is very much for the VULNERABLE in society (James 1:27) which includes those who are strangers in the land, and He is against their oppressors. Also, He Hates Lies. Are those the items/presentations of mine that bother you? Then SPECIFY what items/presentations you are speaking against.

Of course your so-called "Bible-believing" Pastors today can't even identify IDOLATRY which they are steeped-in with this earthly CULTURE therefore you can't understand my warnings against the IDOLATRY being allowed by your Pastors, therefore you write: "nothing to do with a concern over someone's salvation and eternity".

Matt 7:21-23, Not everyone who says to Me, "Lord, Lord," shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. MANY will say to Me in that day, "Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?" And then I will declare to them, "I never knew you, depart from Me, you who practice Lawlessness!"

What dates did i claim?? I left Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa in 2003. Among the Pastors i spoke with, i eventually was able to speak with Chuck Smith ON AIR kwave 107.9 FM call-in Q&A program, "Pastor's Perspective" which used to be known as "To Every Man An Answer". Brian Brodersen was there on that day in Dec 2003 (around 29th of Dec). AND YOU ACCUSE ME THAT CHUCK SMITH WAS ALREADY DEAD AT THAT TIME?? You are a big-joke, just like Satan the Father of LIES.
